What Are The Dwarf planets?

Our solar system currently has five dwarf planets. Pluto is actually one of them as well as Ceres, Haumea, Makemake and Eris. Eris is a dwarf planet located in the Kuiper Belt,a vast region beyond Neptune, and was discovered in 2005 and is the farthest known planet from Earth in the solar system. Eris follows an elliptical orbit and can be anywhere from about 3.5 billion miles to 9 billion miles away from Earth, depending on its position in its orbit.

An Adventure 10 Years in the making

I still remember the feeling of looking up at the evening sky and watching Halley’s comet voyage through space. The year  was 1986 and watching this was the only thing worthy of me putting my Nintendo controller down. The magical grip of  deep space and its secrets took hold of my imagination and for the first time in my life, I felt true awe. An experience  and inspiration so rare that it caused me to pause and question my place in this world. I had so many questions and still  do to this day. Years later, when we had our first child, I would read to him about the stars and the planets all around us. I witnessed in real time that spark of awe and wonderment glowing in my son’s eyes. I had never heard about our Dwarf planets and how they are the furthest most planets in our solar system. My  imagination began to rekindle and I wondered what wild adventures may take place on the dwarf planet furthest away  from Earth called, Eris. In 2012, I wrote a story following a young boy named Jay, 10, who finds himself searching for  adventures, friendships, answers and purpose. Last year, I decided it was time to bring this story to life.
